Weaving Nature into Health Care
Supporting staff to 'bring nature in' and to take their work outdoors
“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.”
Rachel Carson
This is for Everyone
“We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.” Andy Goldsworthy

Who are we
We are mental health clinicians and nature based professionals who are sharing this endeavour. Our aim here is to provide support and resources to each other and to other health care staff who want to weave nature into their work, develop practices for their own self-care, and for their team's wellbeing.
We recognise unequal access to nature as a source of health inequality. We are starting from where we find ourselves: working in certain areas with particular groups of people. We welcome anyone to join us to spread this work into other areas.
Nature Connection is a Relational Need
This requires a mindset shift for services. This is not a luxury, or 'add-on'. This is central to mental health.

Nature inside and out
Beautiful Planet
Earth is our home, inspiration and life-support system. We want to find ways to rejuvenate the natural world around us whenever we can.
Connection is Belonging
Feeling connected to ourselves, each other and nature are all linked together. Boosting one can boost the others. This is how we know who we are, feel we are safe, and find a sense of belonging.
We don't have to be outdoors to make these changes.
